| Summary, etc. | "Clinical audiology is a field concerned with the treatment and prevention of hearing loss or damage. Besides vestibular and audiologic pathologies, the rehabilitation of various auditory disorders such as tinnitus, misophonia, hyperacusis and auditory processing disorders is under the scope of this field. Various testing strategies such as otoacoustic emission measurements, behavioural hearing tests and electrophysiologic tests are employed to determine a person's sensitivity to sounds. After diagnosis, assessing the degree or severity of hearing loss, determining the audio frequency range the ear is insensitive to and the location of the lesion that is causing the hearing loss, are vital to address the problem.
