The Phonemically Balanced Word Lists in Kannada for Adults, developed and standardized in Kannada language, are essential tools for regular speech identification testing in an audiological test battery. A total of 24 PB word lists were developed and standardized for use in quiet and 21 PB word lists for use at -3 dB SNR. The standardized lists can be utilized for testing speech identification abilities in adults with normal hearing sensitivity and those with hearing impairment along with estimation of benefits from hearing aids in the latter. They can also be used in research studies which require multiple PB word lists.
