This is a clinical diagnostic tool to evaluate the influence of lexical factors on speech recognition. The test utilizes two lists of 50 bi-syllabic Kannada words, each consisting of 25 "easy" words (high frequency, low neighborhood density) and 25 "hard" words (low frequency, high neighborhood density). It is designed for children aged 7 to 12 years to identify Central Auditory Processing Disorders (CAPD) and assess how they organize and retrieve words from their mental lexicon. By analyzing the difference in performance between easy and hard word sets, clinicians can determine the maturity of a child's auditory word recognition and develop targeted rehabilitative strategies.
