This is a clinical tool to assess the impact of word frequency and lexical density on speech recognition in children. The test consists of two lists, each containing 25 "easy" words (high frequency, low neighborhood density) and 25 "hard" words (low frequency, high neighborhood density) to evaluate how children organize and access words in their mental lexicon. It is specifically designed for Indian English-speaking children aged 7 to 12 years to identify those with lexical processing deficits or Central Auditory Processing Disorders (CAPD). By comparing performance across easy and hard word sets, clinicians can determine the maturity of a child's auditory word recognition and tailor rehabilitative strategies accordingly.
