The BigCAT-K is a standardized, self-report assessment tool designed to evaluate the communication attitudes of Kannada-speaking adults who stutter. Adapted from the original Behavior Assessment Battery (BAB), it provides clinicians with an internal perspective on a client's speech-related beliefs and negative attitudes. The test helps in differential diagnosis by comparing the results of individuals who stutter with those of fluent speakers using established normative data. By identifying specific negative beliefs, the tool assists Speech-Language Pathologists in developing personalized treatment goals and strategies. Ultimately, the BigCAT-K aligns with the WHO-ICF framework by addressing how a person's attitude toward their speech impacts their overall communication and participation in life.
